Edging Out Of The Box: Jaguar F-Type
Jaguar F-Type Sports Car 2013
Meet Jaguar’s first two-seater sports car for over fifty years. It will be launched next summer and is based around the C-X16 concept which was unveiled in Frankfurt last year. The roadster seen here in its camouflage is hoped to be a segment-leader for the manufacturer and will compete with the likes of the Mercedes SL, Porsche’s 911 and Boxster models and Lotus’ Evora. A base model will set you back £55,000 and a top-end version £70,000.

Its chassis uses aluminium and the roof is a soft-top. The F-Type will get a scaled down version of the XK`s 5.0-litre V8, giving it 3.0-litres and a V6 configuration. Jaguar haven`t confirmed whether a supercharged version will be on offer but if it is, expect power of around 375bhp. The normally aspirated version will have 250bhp.
The manufacturer have announced that it will be built at its Castle Bromwich factory which is close to Coventry and a full technical spec will be given later in the year.
