Volkswagen iBeetle is first car to be fully integrated with Apple`s iPhone

Although Mercedes have used Siri Eyes-Free (giving the driver access to iPhone features via a dashboard mounted button) in their A-Class since last Autumn, VW`s iBeetle becomes the first car to use the iPhone as a fully integrated component of the car. Once docked in its cradle, drivers of the iBeetle can access a range of tailor-made apps and functions which are not otherwise available with their phone. As well as streaming tracks hands-free, iBeetle owners can also stream tracks but also share recommendations with friends or use their phone as a dashboard to display their g-force through corners, their oil and coolant temperature, or even use it as a stopwatch or a compass. In `Trainer` mode, they can also store their route history, average journey times and fuel economy. Sharing all your findings through Facebook and Twitter is also possible together with sending your location and a picture of it to friends using the `Postcard` app.
