iv got a 318is (1.9) that im looking to get supercharged but was wondering if you had to do any engine upgrade parts to ur 1.9?

Ive got an e46 318ci and i contacted the people that makes ur supercharger and they say it wouldnt fit on my car bcoz it isnt a 6 cyc.
If you could giv me some advise on my car would be appreated
