UK Ford tuner Mountune has announced its performance kit for the new Ford Fiesta.

The Mountune Performance Upgrade package was developed in cooperation with Ford Team RS in the UK and is available for the Fiesta 1.6 Ti-VCT Zetec-S and Titanium models.
The performance kit pumps up the power output on the 1.6 liter engine, taking it to 140 hp and 170 Nm of torque - giving the compact hatch a substantial leg up from the standard engine`s 120 hp and 152 Nm. Aside from a little engine tweaking, that augmentation of zest is provided courtesy of a new air-induction system and a performance exhaust with a tubular manifold and a high-flow catalyst.
The extra kick improves acceleration by a full 2 seconds for the 0 to 60 mph (100 km/h) sprint, taking only 7.9 seconds compared to the standard car`s 9.9.
The performance package is available only from selected specialized Ford dealers in the UK as of this month.
Price is set at £1,299 (1,400 euros), not including fitting.
