Well perhaps you’ve got an equally hot motor and share some commonalities; either that or you are very good at Neuro Linguistic Programming. NLP is all about learning and displaying the behaviour and characteristics of successful people; or in street terminology ‘blagging it.’ Really and truthfully if we put our ego’s aside and just accepted being in awe of women like Jessica who do have it all, we’d look far less stupid than we would if we stood there giving it the whole apathetic/negging bravado.
“Nah, I didn’t know you were a swimsuit model and I haven’t really got time to see the pictures now… to be honest I meet so many girls who have posed for FHM and are presenters for TV sport channels that it all gets a bit mundane…” Yeah right!
Twenty-Three year-old Florida born Jessica Barton is of course used to guys not really knowing what to do with themselves around her. Never the less once the initial intimidation and awkwardness melts down, you’ll probably have quite a lot to talk about, especially as this is the second Supra she’s modified. The first however is a bit of a sore subject as it collided with a 4x4 after three years loyal service and now only serves as a donor model.
Determined she could put the parts to good use, Jess was soon on the case to find a roadworthy project car. She called on the talents of Titan Motorsport to help her with the ground-up rebuild which she was determined to make even more impressive than the last. Being female; she knew exactly what she wanted and drafted a list of all the upgrades accompanied by a flat rate price request. Titan Motorsports obliged readily, in fact they had just the motor in mind; a black automatic Supra TT that they got straight to work with on. She had to wait eight months to see the finished project but was pretty elated with how well it matched the image she had conjured up in her head.
The first task was completely stripping it down and then getting Mazworx in Orlando to fit a six-point roll cage. After that it was a case of sourcing an Aston Martin grey shade for the bodywork. In contrast to her own very ‘stand-out’ appearance, the Florida model has always been keen on clean dark colours rather than anything too showy. Samuels Auto Body was responsible for the paint work which is also used on the roll cage and engine bay.
What lies underneath the sporty hue however is what Jessica’s Supra has really got itself a name for – 802 horses of drag-worthy power. This transformation was carried out by Darin at Titan Motorsports who sourced a new short block as well as more durable valves and retainers. The head also needed a complete overhaul and HKS 272 cams again ensured the engine could cope with all the extra power. Further down the line Darin added to the build with JE pistons and Carillo rods.
The best news for Jessica though was that her old Supra came in handy for parts like the six-speed manual transmission and the SP74 GTQ turbo. Complimenting this 74mm forced induction system is a GReddy Type R blow-off valve, GReddy exhaust manifold and GReddy Evo full exhaust system. To avoid doing the job twice, a Tilton lightweight carbon clutch has also been fitted.
The fuelling system is again rather high-tech with its Nitrous Express 150 shot kit which allows the Supra an extra 200bhp on tap, she’s also got 880cc injectors and Denzo pumps. To keep things getting too steamy, Jessica’s opted for a GReddy three-row intercooler, Fluidyne radiator and Flex-A-Lite fans. Then managing all the technicalities is an AEM brain supplied by Titan Motorsport.
This of course will work over time when Jessica gets her size 10s on the car and takes it to the drag strip; Jessica also anticipates needing a new driveshaft and diff before giving her motor an all-out thrashing. On the road Jess is pretty calm and relaxed but we await to see if she has a wild streak when out on the strip as drag racing is what her Supra was primarily built for. For every day use Jessica describes it as “very reliable and smooth – much like a Honda.” When at car shows though Jessica is proud to show off its capabilities, flooring the throttle and pleasing the crowds with loudly revved dyno demos. In the future she even hopes to tip the 1000bhp figure.
In terms of the Supra’s looks she’s happy to keep it simple which tends to accentuate the handful of upgrades even more. Aside from the Vanquish paintwork and the front-mounted intercooler which dominates the front-end of the car, there’s also that Modellista carbon fibre front lip, year 97/98 front indicators and colour-co-ordinated 18” Gunmetal Volk SF Challenge wheels. Slamming those rubbers lower to the floor are Eibach Pro springs which also aid its cornering stability.
The interior is even less overcrowded with extras, in fact the rear seats have been deleted by World Motorsports and the roll cage takes priority. In the front Sparco Milano racing seats take precedence together with a juicy nitrous bottle. At a later date Jessica intends to make a few more cabin improvements while still keeping it sensible. For the ICE there’s JL Audio speakers which keep things rocking but the shopping list is likely to grow. Her main priority is the engine and keeping her Jap toy up there with the best of them. Whether on the drag strip, at shows or cruising down Florida’s coastline with a model mate, she certainly keeps the tuning scene hotted up. Bring on the female modding craze, we say!!!
