Savage by name...

Dutch students have got the Supercar market sussed, it doesn’t get much more desirable or entertaining than this.

They`ve dubbed it the Rivale Roadyacht GTS and it was first spied at the AutoRAI in Amsterdam, and then to the glamorous shores of Monaco for the Monte Carlo Top Marques Extravaganza.

With its four doors and retractable hard-top roof owners cannot only enjoy relatively easy access to the seats but also to the elements. More unusual though is the lack of B-pillars which we`re deliberately left out in order to create a yacht-like feel. There`s also teak wood flooring which continues the nautical theme. You would have thought though that this choice of material would contribute to an over all heavier weight but they`ve managed to keep it to a respectable 1,280kg. Obviously the exterior has a more functional cabon-fibre and chrome steel make-up and underneath the skin there’s a rather interesting choice of Corvette ZR1 for the powertrain. The wheels are custom-made Tenzo 19” specialities and the Toyo T1R tyres snuggly keep them protected. With every Super Car just as much attention is paid to the brakes as stopping is fairly crucial too; in this Savage creation they`ve used DBM eight-piston and four-piston monoblocks in conjunction with 380mm and 355mm discs.
Making the project possible was Motio development which is based in the Netherlands, they assisted the 3D modelling and Komplot Mechanics supplied the foam moulds. Rep-air Composites also gave a helping hand with the body panels and Steel juggernaut Corus provided materials for the chassis.

The makers of the Savage; Pop and De Boer hope to produce 4 a year of these Savage Rivale Roadyacht GTS Super cars and 20 in total. If you know of any venture capitalists that may be interested then tell them to get on the blower to these Dutch Engineers/Entrepreneurs as they are eager to start production by 2010.
