Fame or money down the drain?
These days even if you have the talent to build your own Super Car, can convince all your nearest and dearest to invest all their life savings and are fortunate enough to have a name like Jock Freemantle, it’s not guaranteed you’ll manage to sell the lovely specimen.

The problem that stands between worldwide success and a 68 year-old New Zealand man’s life-long dream is largely Ferrari, Lamborghini and Aston Martin to name but a few. The punters may love the idea of the Hulme CanAm Super Car (incidentally named after fellow New Zealand Formula One champion Denny Hulme) but would they pay for it with cold crisp cash?
There’s a lot to be said for establishing a brand and no matter how impressive a 7.0-litre V8 engine with 600hp and 600Nm of torque may sound to you now if you were a serious buyer would you not just stick to what you know? How can you quantify its reliability or its value in a few years time? Never the less we would like to root for Jock and hope he can come up with the goods. If money is no object it would certainly be worth a gamble as in comparison Ferrari’s and Lambos will be two a penny.
