The technology is already here as the 300 Elektrobay units across the UK have proven but they need to be much more widely distributed in order to encourage people to buy electric cars says Calvey Taylor-Haw, Managing Director of Elektromotive. Currently there are more Elektrobays in cities and popular shopping centres but this does not give driver`s of such cars the flexibility to drive around to the far flung corners of England. Recently Elektromotive supported Vauxhall and Smart Cars at the Goodwood Festival of Speed by showing off the Elektrobay demonstration units they have provided the manufacturers with. The new Vauxhall Ampera pictured here was also in the spotlight to entice would-be buyers to go for an electric car purchase in 2012 when it goes on sale.
