VW Scirocco R Rally Car debuts in Germany with Carlos Sainz behind the wheel

Fans who turned out for the WRC in Germany last weekend were treated to the debut of VW`s new Bio gas beauty which emits 80% less C02. They were just as pleased to see Carlos Sainz driving a WRC car again; the two times world champion had announced his retirement from special stage rallying some years back and this year his focus has been on winning the Dakar Rally for VW. However Sainz was pretty keen to try out the compressed natural gas Scirocco Cup car which is also turbocharged and houses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (223PS and 275Nm torque). Carlos Sainz debuted the car alongside co-driver Nasser Al-Attiyah.
