European Spec MG 6 arrives
It`s been playing truant for three years but now MG is back in the United Kingdom and will build its next European spec MG 6 in Birmingham. The main difference between it and the Chinese version will be a better quality and better equipped cabin.

First the Land Rover arm was sold to Ford in 2000, then the Shanghai Automotive Industrial Corporation steps in briefly (from 2004 - 2005) to try and recover the massive financial losses the marque has suffered. It is too late though and despite the UK Government stepping in with a £6.5m loan, MG Rover goes in to administration. It is bought three months later in July 2005 by Nanjing Automotive which have been producing mainstream MG models in China and TF Roadster kits in the UK. Now though the MG 6 which was first seen at the Auto Shanghai 2009 and has proved popular in the Chinese market, is UK bound. The main difference between the Chinese and the Euro Spec models is the high equipment levels. Full electrics, a keyless ignition and air conditioning will all come as standard in Europe. We also get the option of leather seats, GPS navigation, cruise control, and a rear view camera. Expect to see the car arrive in Birmingham this April powered by a 160PS turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol engine. Next year a 1.9-liter diesel will join the lineup.
