Bentley`s new 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 engine which will be shown off in the Continental GTC at Geneva this week still kicks out 500 bhp at 6000rpm and its torque peaks at 660 Nm. The resourceful bit is that this torque is available from 1700 to 5000rpm. Combine this with their new close-ratio 8-speed automatic transmission and you get a 0-60 mph sprint of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 187 mph. On a practical note, the GTC V8 can travel 500 miles on a single tank of fuel and it benefits from all-wheel-drive.
