OTHER INFO: a bit of history about the car. it use to belong to braian harvy (ex e17 lead singer) i saw the car in the sun news paper when i was younger and fell inlove with it. a few years later it came up for sale and i bought it. it was blue with black leather back then and the kit as well as the wheels were not in the best condition at the time. i drove around in it like that for a while then decided to fit a new kit, and as anyone who knows the kit know`s the whole cars more or less needs a respray after, so i had it painted kandy tangerine and put some cream lether vader interior and some fusion ice in it and then had image wheels make me some new rims. a few months later it went for an mot and i went to pick it up an hour later to find they had driven the car into the ramp and the front bumper was smashed. kandy paint cant be matched so the car needed a respray. the tangerine was a bit hit and miss as some loved it and some not so much so i decided to go for the kandy red instead. i took it to max power live a week after it was painted and won best paint. i went to the national bmw show 4 months after that and again won best paint, best convertible & best modified (those are the only shows i`ve taken the car to) i was happy with the looks, but the 2.7 engine was a let down as people expected something special under the bonnet due to the flashy looks of the car, so i decided to do an engine conversion. i was thinking of a v12 turbo, but needed something flashy to match the body, so decided on the twin turbo set up as no one had done one here like it. i also decided i wanted everything fabricated from scratch or at least polished. i still wasnt happy after as most cars have 1 or 2 of the 3 things which makes a complete car in my eyes(styling, ice & power), but not many have all 3. i had the styling & power, but the fusion ice wasn`t doing the car any justice so decided to rip the interior out and start again and went for jl audio equipment. lots and lots of hard work went into the interior as the seats and doorcards had to be made from scratch. i`m very happy with it, but if i could change 1 thing i would leave out the red piping and perhaps put baseball type stitching or something instead. (no pleasing some people) :-), i then had image make me another set of rims, uprated the suspenssion and brakes too. basically the car has been built from scratch and everything that could be changed was change. i now feel i have a complete car. it`s just a shame i dont get to drive it due to me working abroad. how much have i spent so far? i could have bought a ferrari with the amount i`ve spent, but wheres the fun in that? anyone with enough money can buy a ferrari and have the same car as you, but i know there is no other car like mine anywhere and that is the fun for me. i have to remind people that it`s also a show car. i didnt do half the things on the car for practicality. i did it cause i could and i have another car for daily driving so this is just a toy. anyway thanks for looking and reading and please leave a comment regardless of what you think ;-) ho and i`ve just had a different set of wheels made again. i will put them on the car and take some new pics asap! thanks for all the nice cooments. it`s a shame there is no facility to answer individual questions here. most asked question is how much the car owes me? well it owes me so much i`ve lost count because i`ve changed the looks and colour of the car 3 times. at a rough estimate i`d say near £80,000+. i didnt set out to spend that much, but as any real moddr knows you do something on the car and other things need doing to compliment what you have just done and it`s never ending ;-). would i do it again? most of the time i think not because i hardly drive the car due to working abroad and it seems such a waste especially in the current crisis in the world, but then i drive the car and it`s obvious where the money went and i think it`s worth it. ho tried to put the new rims on at the weekend, but the offset was all wrong on the front wheels and not enough space for the brakes so they are back to image. will update with some new pics as soon as they are back. once again thanks for the comments and keep them coming, good or bad i wont take offence ;-) if you would like to ask me any questions then drop me a email rieger@hotmail.co.uk |
